Left on the shelf by Kafka in 1915, the book was published in 1925 during the tense interwar period, which was, not coincidentally, the heyday of Modernist literature. Unfortunately, very little is known today about his life. ![]() ![]() Our understanding of the cultural and political forces which gave rise to the Classical Age of Greece (479-431 BCE), a watershed in Western Civilization, rests largely on the work of one remarkable individual, an ancient Greek merchant named Herodotus. Introduction: Herodotus and the Birth of History A. Professor of Ancient Drama, Ancient History, Latin and Greek Languages Since he invented history, no century has passed without a historian to record it. A master storyteller, Herodotus won an audience for history not only in his day but for all time. It encompasses geography, gossip, gods and even a bit of arithmetic. Explicitly, The Histories deal with the Persian Wars, the Greeks’ double defeat of the formidable forces led against them by the Persian kings Darius and Xerxes, but Herodotus’ work includes much more than just the narration of that conflict. Herodotus is the “Father of History” and-according to some-also the “Father of Lies.” As a discipline, history begins with Herodotus’ Histories, the first known systematic investigation of the past. ![]() 6/24/2023 0 Comments Chasing Payne by Chantel Seabrook![]() ![]() Lion shapeshifter, Agent Chase Payne, doesn t have time for distractions especially the kind that involve his best friend s younger sister He has a job to do leading his team of Therian agents to fight against those who would expose their kind to the world Lora Oliver wants to be a Therian Agent, but shocking secrets from her past have damaged the bond between her hum Lion shapeshifter, Agent Chase Payne, doesn t have time for distractions especially the kind that involve his best friend s younger sister He has a job to do leading his team of Therian agents to fight against those who would expose their kind to the world Lora Oliver wants to be a Therian Agent, but shocking secrets from her past have damaged the bond between her human and animal natures, and threaten to destroy everything she s worked so hard for, along with the people she loves Assigned to Chase s team, Lora struggles to retain control and keep her secrets buried, while Chase denies what he feels for Lora And then, one kiss changes everything about Author ![]() 6/24/2023 0 Comments Benjamin hoff the te of piglet![]() ![]() Thistles and nettles from the bog you know, but quite good when cooked in buttered broth. ![]() ![]() A lovely smell was coming out of the crumbling donkey shelter. ![]() One day I was walking through the bog, gazing wistfully at the muddy water, when I came across Eeyore in his den.
